How to Join LCFCU

Credit unions are nonprofit institutions owned by their depositors, known as "members", and run by a Board of Directors made up of our members. Joining the credit union is fast and easy. Simply open a "share" savings account with a minimum deposit of $5, pay a one-time $5 membership fee and you are a member. Once you join LCFCU you're a member for life even if you change employers and/or retire.

You can join online, click here to request a new member packet online or call (202) 707-5852 or 1(800) 325-2328 Monday thru Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. EST to speak with a member services representative.

You'll find detailed information below on eligible employees, and eligibility for family members and associates of eligible employees.

Why Join LCFCU?

Credits unions exist only to help their members build secure financial futures. Banks make profits from their customers for the benefit of their shareholders. Credits unions are not for profit institutions that use "profits" to offer no and low fee products and services and great loan and investment rates to members.
