Helpful TIPS for using Mobile Check Deposit 

  • Make sure the check amount entered matches the amount written.
  • Flatten folded or crumpled checks before taking your photos.
  • Take the photos of your check in a well lit area.
  • For best results, place the check on a contrasting and solid surface before taking the photo of it.
  • Keep the check within the on-screen corners when capturing your photo.
  • Keep the phone flat and steady above the check when taking your photo.
  • Make sure the entire check image is visible and in focus before submitting your mobile deposit.
  • Ensure no shadows are across the check.

What is Mobile Check Deposit?
LCFCU is pleased to offer our members Mobile Check Deposit, a convenient way to deposit checks through their mobile device. This service is available through our mobile app available in the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Who can use Mobile Check Deposit?
Any member who has a valid savings, checking or money market account with us and is currently enrolled in our Online Banking can use Mobile Check Deposit through our mobile app.

Which devices can use Mobile Check Deposit?
Mobile Check Deposit is available for devices using Apple iOS or Google Android™.

Is there a fee associated with using Mobile Check Deposit?
No, this is a free service provided by LCFCU; however, standard data or text messaging rates for your mobile device may apply.

Can I deposit any type of check with Mobile Check Deposit?
You may only deposit first party checks that are payable to you and/or any joint account holders and drawn on a U.S Institution. For example, you may deposit payroll checks, personal checks, checks from a government entity and cashier's checks.

You may not deposit:

  • Checks payable to any person or entity other than you (i.e no third party checks)
  • Checks that contain evidence of being altered, or any item that you suspect or know to be altered or fraudulent
  • Checks that you are not authorized to endorse or deposit
  • Checks drawn on a financial institution located outside the U.S. (i.e. no foreign items)
  • U.S. Savings Bonds, U.S. Postal Money Orders, Traveler's Cheques, Convenience Checks (checks drawn against a line of credit) or Cash
  • Checks that are stale dated (dated more than 6 months prior to the date of deposit)

Is there a dollar amount threshold for using Mobile Check Deposit?
You may deposit multiple checks during a single session, up to a total of $5,000 a day.

How do I endorse checks that are submitted through Mobile Check Deposit?
Verify that the back of your check is signed (endorsed) and labeled, "For LCFCU Mobile Deposit" and include your account number. How you endorse your check is critical to the acceptance of the deposit. Failure to comply with the above will cause the deposit to be subject to rejection.

When will my deposited funds be available?
Our Mobile Check Deposit holds are just like our ATM deposit holds. Checks deposited after 2:00 PM on banking days will be considered deposited on the next banking day. In most cases, the first $200 of your deposit will be available after the next business day.

What should I do with my check after I submit it via Mobile Check Deposit?
Please keep your check for 60 days following the successful deposit notification, and once you see the funds are included in your available balance. We ask that you keep the check in a secure location in case there is an issue with the deposit image and we need to request the actual check from you. After 60 days you may destroy the check and securely dispose of it.
