A government shutdown can make it hard to make ends meet. We offer financial relief options to help members affected by a government furlough.

Financial Relief Skip-A-Payment1

During this time of uncertainty, we’re here to help provide some financial relief. For members impacted by the shutdown, our Financial Relief Skip-A-Payment1 allows you to skip a monthly payment on your Credit Union auto and personal loan(s). The $25 fee per loan will be waived during a government shutdown.

Mortgage Loan products (First Mortgage, Home Equity Line of Credit and Loan/Second Trust) are NOT ELIGIBLE for Skip-A-Payment.

Furlough Relief 0% APR2 Emergency Loan

A special 0% APR2 Emergency Loan is available to members with no direct deposit required.

  • Borrow up to $5,000
  • Interest-free, 0% APR2 & No Payments for 60 days
  • Low 7.75% APR2 after 60 days with up to 36 months to repay

1You must be a member in good standing, including being current on all loans with the credit union, in order to participate in the LCFCU Government Shutdown Skip-A-Payment program. Skip-A-Pay fee is waived. Please note that only Consumer Loans are eligible for the program. Mortgage Loan products (First Mortgage, Home Equity Line of Credit and Loan/Second Trust) are NOT ELIGIBLE for the program. Interest will continue to accrue on your outstanding loan balance(s), and could result in additional payments required to pay your loan in full. When payments resume, unpaid interest will be collected first and the remaining monies will be applied toward principle. 

2APR = Annual Percentage Rate. LCFCU Emergency Loans cannot be combined with any other LCFCU loans or loan discounts. No minimum membership requirement. Payments will be set up as a payroll deduction with the first payment starting 60 days from loan date. If there is no direct deposit, most recent paystub is required. Only 1 government shut down Emergency Loan at a time. If member has the $2,500 Emergency Loan, it would be paid off from funds granted for $5,000 Emergency Loan request. Other restrictions may apply. The Emergency Loan offer is only available for a limited time.
