Library of Congress FCU Races Toward Community Well-being at the CU Cherry Blossom Run/Walk
April 18, 2025 – Washington, D.C. – UPDATE –
The 52nd annual Credit Union Cherry Blossom Walk/Run took place on April 5-6 in Washington, D.C. Often referred to as a “Runner’s Rite of Spring,” the event attracted over 17,000 participants for the 10-mile course, which meanders through the iconic cherry blossoms and major D.C. landmarks.
Additionally, Saturday saw around 7,000 runners in the 5K race, which was honored as the Best 5K in the country by USA Today in both 2023 and 2025. Both the 10-mile and 5K events were sold out.
During Sunday’s 10-mile run, Credit Unions and industry partners presented a generous $460,000 donation from Credit Union Miracle Day to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

April 1, 2025 – The Library of Congress FCU (LCFCU) is excited to participate in the iconic Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run & 5K Run-Walk on Saturday, April 5 and Sunday, April 6, 2025. This beloved event is part of the National Cherry Blossom Festival, and LCFCU’s involvement demonstrates the credit union’s ongoing commitment to health, wellness, and community engagement.
As one of the most anticipated springtime events in the nation’s capital, the Cherry Blossom Festival attracts thousands of participants, and LCFCU is thrilled to join the vibrant atmosphere that celebrates both fitness and the beauty of Washington, D.C. in full bloom.
A dedicated group of Library of Congress and LCFCU employees will lace up their running shoes, with participants ranging from seasoned runners to casual walkers. Through these events, the credit union is not only encouraging healthy lifestyles but also reinforcing its core values of collaboration, support, and camaraderie.

The Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run and 5K Run-Walk serves as a fundraiser for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Prospective entrants are encouraged to raise funds through family members, friends, work colleagues, etc. supporting CMN Hospitals.
